I made this quilt for my Dad and presented to him in 2008. Took me 6 months to complete. All blocks are paperpieced and done in Batik fabrics.

- I am a wife of 8 yrs and mother to 9 kritters. They are my life. They are a handful BUT they all have very unique personalities. I am retired now and loving every minute of freedom! I've been quilting now for 14yrs. Anytime I am behind any of my machine, I feel at peace! My stash of fabrics are Civil War and 30's reproduction fabrics along with Batiks. I find myself drawn to making difficult quilts.

Liz, Did you make this mariner's compass quilt? It's stunning! Regarding setting the compasses: Did you piece the background or cut holes in the solid piece to set the compasses?
